Glide actually started as a clone of Tiny Wings for Pico-8, primarily as a programming challenge to create smooth hills. The "up and down" motion of the hills inspired the primary gliding mechanic. As a small aside, this was the first game I made with save data; the game saves the user's high score between sessions.
